Hol dir die 1Password für Linux App

Learn how to set up 1Password on your Linux computer.

Before you set up 1Password for Linux, you’ll need to sign up for an account.

Get 1Password for Linux

You can install 1Password for your Linux distribution:

Debian or Ubuntu

Download and install the .deb package to get 1Password for Debian or Ubuntu. Installing the .deb package will configure the signing key and apt repository for automatic updates.

Or install 1Password manually:

  1. Add the key for the 1Password apt repository:

    curl -sS https://downloads.1password.com/linux/keys/1password.asc | sudo gpg --dearmor --output /usr/share/keyrings/1password-archive-keyring.gpg

  2. Add the 1Password apt repository:

    echo 'deb [arch=amd64 signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/1password-archive-keyring.gpg] https://downloads.1password.com/linux/debian/amd64 stable main' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/1password.list

  3. Add the debsig-verify policy:

    sudo mkdir -p /etc/debsig/policies/AC2D62742012EA22/
	curl -sS https://downloads.1password.com/linux/debian/debsig/1password.pol | sudo tee /etc/debsig/policies/AC2D62742012EA22/1password.pol
	sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/debsig/keyrings/AC2D62742012EA22
	curl -sS https://downloads.1password.com/linux/keys/1password.asc | sudo gpg --dearmor --output /usr/share/debsig/keyrings/AC2D62742012EA22/debsig.gpg

  4. Install 1Password:

    sudo apt update && sudo apt install 1password

The packages and repository are signed with the GPG key 3FEF9748469ADBE15DA7CA80AC2D62742012EA22.

Fedora or Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Download and install the .rpm package to get 1Password for Fedora or Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Installing the .rpm package will configure the signing key and yum repository for automatic updates.

Or install 1Password manually:

  1. Add the key for the 1Password yum repository:

    sudo rpm --import https://downloads.1password.com/linux/keys/1password.asc

  2. Add the 1Password yum repository:

    sudo sh -c 'echo -e "[1password]\nname=1Password Stable Channel\nbaseurl=https://downloads.1password.com/linux/rpm/stable/\$basearch\nenabled=1\ngpgcheck=1\nrepo_gpgcheck=1\ngpgkey=\"https://downloads.1password.com/linux/keys/1password.asc\"" > /etc/yum.repos.d/1password.repo'

  3. Install 1Password:

    sudo dnf install 1password

The packages and repository are signed with the GPG key 3FEF9748469ADBE15DA7CA80AC2D62742012EA22.

SUSE Linux or openSUSE

Install 1Password from our RPM repository.

  1. Add the key for the 1Password RPM repository:

    sudo rpm --import https://downloads.1password.com/linux/keys/1password.asc

  2. Add the 1Password RPM repository:

    sudo zypper addrepo https://downloads.1password.com/linux/rpm/stable/x86_64 1password

  3. Install 1Password:

    sudo zypper install 1password

Arch Linux

Install 1Password from the Arch User Repository (AUR).

  1. Hol dir den 1Password-Signierschlüssel:

    curl -sS https://downloads.1password.com/linux/keys/1password.asc | gpg --import

  2. Clone the 1Password package:

    git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/1password.git

  3. Install 1Password:

    cd 1password
makepkg -si

The source is signed with the GPG key 3FEF9748469ADBE15DA7CA80AC2D62742012EA22.

Gentoo or NixOS

If you use Gentoo or NixOS, there are 1Password packages maintained by their open source communities. These aren’t directly maintained by 1Password and may not make updates available as soon as they’re released.

ARM or other distributions (.tar.gz)

Tipp

To determine the architecture for your Linux computer, open your terminal and run the following command: uname -m

If you see x86_64 or amd64, install the amd64 version of 1Password. If you see aarch64, install the arm64 version of 1Password.

Download and install the .tar.gz file for amd64 or arm64, depending on your architecture.

  1. Download 1Password for amd64 or arm64.

    1. For amd64:

      curl -sSO https://downloads.1password.com/linux/tar/stable/x86_64/1password-latest.tar.gz

    2. For arm64:

      curl -sSO https://downloads.1password.com/linux/tar/stable/aarch64/1password-latest.tar.gz

  2. Extract the files:

    sudo tar -xf 1password-latest.tar.gz

  3. Move the files to the /opt directory:

    sudo mkdir -p /opt/1Password && sudo mv 1password-*/* /opt/1Password

  4. Run the installation script:

    sudo /opt/1Password/after-install.sh

  5. Öffne 1Password:

    1password

The .tar.gz file is signed with the GPG key 3FEF9748469ADBE15DA7CA80AC2D62742012EA22. Download the .sig file for amd64 or arm64.

Snap Store

You can install 1Password from the Snap Store.

If you install 1Password from the Snap Store, you’ll have access to all the features 1Password for Linux has to offer except:

Flatpak

You can install 1Password from Flathub. This release isn’t directly maintained by 1Password and may not make updates available as soon as they’re released.

If you install 1Password with Flatpak, you’ll have access to all the features 1Password for Linux has to offer except:

Add an account

To add an account to 1Password for Linux:

  1. In your browser, sign in to your account on 1Password.com.

    If you have trouble signing in or don’t see your account listed on 1Password.com, open the 1Password app and select Enter account details manually.

  2. Select your name in the top right, then select Set up another device.
  3. Select Add your account directly and allow your browser to open 1Password. You’ll see your account details in the app.
  4. Enter your 1Password account password, then select Sign In.

1Password for Linux requires a 1Password membership.

If you don’t see new items or updated information in 1Password, you can remove and re-add your account.

If you use GNOME and the 1Password icon doesn’t appear in your system tray, install the AppIndicator shell extension .
