Abschaffung von 1Password für Linux auf Distributionen, die GLIBC 2.30 oder älter verwenden

Published:

Summary

1Password 8 for Linux runs on Electron. As part of our recent upgrade of Electron, the required GNU C Library (GLIBC) version was raised to 2.31. 1Password for Linux version 8.10.62 is the last release that supports GLIBC 2.30 or older.

Who is affected

You’re affected if you use 1Password on a device running a distribution of Linux that has GLIBC 2.30 or older, such as:

  • Ubuntu 19.10 and older
  • Fedora 31 and older
  • Debian 10 and older
  • RHEL 8 or CentOS 8 and older

If you’re using an affected version of Linux, upgrade Linux to a distribution version that includes GLIBC 2.31 or newer. When 1Password updates are released, you’ll be able to install them and continue using 1Password normally.

If you don’t upgrade Linux, you can continue using 1Password, but you won’t be able to update the app, which is not recommended because you won’t receive security updates.
