You can find your Secret Key and Setup Code in the 1Password app on any device where you’re already signed in to your account.

Setup codes are only available in 1Password 7.
In 1Password 8, use a QR code to sign in on a new device. To get started, unlock the 1Password app and select your account or collection from the top of the sidebar or screen, then choose Set Up Another Device.
1Password 8

- If you’re signed in to multiple accounts, select your account.
- Choose Your Details, then select the Secret Key field to copy it.
To view your Secret Key so you can enter it on another device, hover over it, select the down arrow and select Reveal.

To view your Secret Key so you can enter it on another device, select the ellipsis 
and select Reveal.

Wichtig
You won’t be able to find your Secret Key in Safari unless you sign in to your 1Password account at least every 7 days. To make sure you can always access your account, download and set up the 1Password app, then download your Emergency Kit.
You can find your Secret Key and Setup Code in your 1Password account on the web. Use a browser you’ve used to sign in to your account before, like the browser you used to create your account.

Find your Secret Key in your Emergency Kit
You can find your Secret Key and Setup Code in your Emergency Kit, which may be saved on the device you used to create your 1Password account.
If you don’t remember saving your Emergency Kit, look in your Downloads folder for a PDF file named “1Password Emergency Kit”.
If you’re part of a team that uses 1Password Business, and you can’t find an Emergency Kit saved on your device, Emergency Kits may be turned off for your team. If you unlock 1Password with your identity provider, you won’t have an Emergency Kit.

Your Secret Key is your secret. It protects your account together with your 1Password account password, which only you know. We don’t have a copy of your Secret Key or any way to recover or reset it for you. To find your Secret Key, you’ll need one of the following:
- The 1Password app on any device where you’re already signed in to your account.
- A browser you’ve used to sign in to your account before.
- Your Emergency Kit.
If you don’t have one of those, but you belong to a family or team account, ask a family organizer or team administrator to recover your account.
If you’ve lost access to a device, learn how to regenerate your Secret Key.
